    Promocodes is a well-established retailer of discount promotional codes and vouchers that works in conjunction with high-end brand names. The company operates a huge site dedicated to providing customers with competitive deals online.

    Project Background

    Promocodes had not carried out any SEO work prior to partnering with SEO Positive in January 2011 as the site was launched in December 2010. The team had built a large, fully-functional site but were still experiencing limited search engine visibility and wanted to raise their profile and awareness of their brand.

    Objectives

    • To target the most competitive search terms possible to generate higher conversions
    • To leapfrog competitors’ websites to the first page of Google.co.uk
    • To develop the online brand through integration with Facebook & Twitter – this also aids SEO

    • Provide Promocodes with recommendations to improve the architecture of the website to help with onsite optimisation
    • Plan and improve the internal linking structure of the site
    • Optimise individual landing pages for each brand to simplify the user experience (this included meta revisions)
    • Build links strategically to improve relevancy of each landing page
    • Review keyword selection on a monthly basis and delegate proportion of budget to each

    Promocodes now ranks within the top 20 search results within Google.co.uk for 5,700+ keywords. The company is ranked number one for ‘discount codes’ and ‘promotional codes’ – two of the largest search terms in the industry with 22,200 and 18,100 local monthly searches respectively.

    Promocodes are also at the top of the first page for brand-specific terms such as ‘Lipsy promotional code’, ‘vodafone voucher code’, ‘new look discount code’ and ‘hotels.com promo code’.

    Interaction via social media has greatly increased, with Twitter followers amount in particular increasing by 4000%.

    In the first full month of the SEO campaign (January 2011), we achieved a significant traffic increase for the website as the number of visits had tripled after the first two months.

    Attinger Jack Interactive have now been working with SEO Positive for over 12 months and have seen a significant and steady rise in conversion on the site in this time.
