We start from we left of in the previous article regarding Spamming techniques. We need to emphasise that spamming techniques or black hat SEO techniques’ benefits are temporary with a serious repercussion. Knowing is winning half the battle as they say so therefore you have to take cognisance of the fact that these SEO techniques are being divulged not to encourage the use of it but rather to discourage people especially those who are starting their SEO business or their SEO campaign. Enough of the somewhat disclaimer and lets move on to the continuation of the different spamming techniques.
Another spamming technique is through the use of hidden text which is usually incorporated in the content of the web page. This is to trick spam filters that are programmed to detect messages that contain certain words or phrases that are usually indicative of spam. This can be done by hiding the words to the naked human eye but visible for the search engine spiders to read as part of the data that will be gathered which would or might contribute to the increase in the sites’ SERP. However, if at first this technique may go undetected search engine algorithms have the mechanism to learn and decipher on its second crawl to the website if there are hidden texts incorporated within the contents.
Meta tags can also be used as spam. Meta tags are data about data. Useless meta tags are those packed with key words which would then increase their status in the search engine ranking.
Some SEOs and webmasters have begun spamming directories to hunt for valuable links to upgrade their rankings.
Hidden tags are also used as spam. The different types of tags such as comment tags, style tags, alt tags, noframes tags, and alt tag are inserted with keywords.
Email spam is still a widely used search marketing spam. A “call-to-action” email with a URL placed inside is one way of doing this.
The redirect function is also used to feel a search engine or even to lead traffic meant for one website to another. There are various ways to do this and the end result is always search engine spam.
The misuse of Web 2.0 formats is also an emerging SEO spam. The instant live-to-live nature of this format provides an open range for SEO spam technicians.
Search engine optimization spam is still a problem for the SEO industry. This makes it harder for the industry to advance as advertisers’ trust is put into jeopardy and thus, business will not flourish. Fortunately, there are new ways being developed to improve SEO Spam detection and prevention.

Search engine giant Google recently announced that they were putting together results from social media sites like Twitter into their search pages. This is also something that their search rival, Bing, is apparently doing. However, there are differences with how the two are doing it.
Google’s “Social Search” results can be seen through your Google profile. The results that you see will be culled from your existing social networks rather than showing all relevant results. Google appears to have an idea that Social Search results limited to your existing network would help them show you only the results that are the most relevant to you.
It seems that Google wants you fill out a social profile with them because they want to aggregate all of your profile activity and then allow you to interact with Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn without ever leaving the Google environment online. This is also increasingly seen in Google’s other web-based applications such as Google Docs, Chrome, and Andriod. This appears to be an antithesis to what Google said they are.
However, it seems that Bing is more successful here as it is at the verge of integrating Twitter and other social properties in a much more open, accessible, and visible way. The advantage of Bing is that its results are based on your search query instead of just on your existing network. This then makes new content visible and promotes the free flow of information.
It seems that Bing is much closer to the future while Google is still grappling their identity.

Number of words and keywords are usually uppermost in web content writers’ minds this may be because of the fact that search engine rely on the keywords of the website in its process of indexing the website, keywords are being utilised as the category where the site will belong and the content will be the avenue for the search engine to gather data for it to process the indexing of the same website. However, it is equally important to remember that what you are writing is primarily used to engage people’s interest. Actually, it is not the number of words that you write or the number of keywords that you skillfully put in that will ensure your success. Instead, it is keeping the people who will read your piece in mind which will help you succeed in the field of search engine optimization. Thus, this goes without saying that you have to spark the interest of your reader in order to gain more advantage.
Although it is imperative to include keywords in your content, the exact density is a minor detail. You may slave away for hours trying to attain the optimal percentage of keywords but this can be easily outweighed by just one additional inbound link, which is usually achieved through an SEO technique known as link building.
If you focus on writing useful and enjoyable content, people will like to it and if this link is from a relevant website, then your article and your site will consequently start to rank better and higher as it gets “votes” from other websites that will link to yours.
Keep in mind still though that keywords are still very important. It is only through these that search engines will know what your page is about. Hence, include keywords in titles and use them whenever it is relevant to the text.
Equally important is the context that you wrap around you keywords. Use words and phrases that have a close relationship to your keywords. Remember that your readers may initially be hooked by your keywords but it is when they read the whole thing that you know their interest is hooked.

Whichever way you put it and however you look at it, Spam is not good for you and your business, this is attributed to the fact that it employs techniques that would tantamount to unfair competition due to the fact that an upper hand is gained by those who employ such spam techniques over those who use legitimate SEO techniques. Although there may be some SEO companies or SEO consultants that may be unaware that what they employ is bordering already between white hat and black hat SEO techniques reasons of which may be understandable, however search engines does not know human feelings neither can it decipher unintentional human errors that is why being informed about the current spamming or black hat techniques is one of your weapon in order not to be banned by search engines.
One known and current spamming technique is cloaking, also known or commonly called as “stealth”, it is a technique which involves serving a set of information to known search engine spiders or agents while displaying a different set of information to general visitors. This can be compared to a magicians hands, one hand is showing one thing and the other is doing another which would then show a different thing.
IP Delivery, relative to the above, is the elementary form of cloaking in which a set of information is served based on the IP address from which the info-query originated from. Known search engine based IP addresses are served a set of information while unrecognized IP addresses have been served another.
Leader pages can be used as spam when there are multiple incidents seen of what is actually just one document.
Mini-site networks generate spam by weaving webs of links in between mini-sites. They act like leader pages but are bigger. These combined links create a synthetic-link density that could change Google’s notice of the site.
Link farms are a group of websites that are interconnected together by hyperlink. This is a way of spamming the index of a search engine.
Blog and/or forum spam is spamming on weblogs. In this span, comments are repeatedly placed on various blog posts and provided links to the spammer’s commercial web sites.
Keyword stuffing happens when a web page is loaded with keywords in the meta tags or content.

Web logs or now commonly known as Blogs have started as a fad in the internet community. This may be brought about by the fact that blogs allows you to create your online journal and it gives you the opportunity to speak out your mind. With the evolution on how people express themselves through blogs and with the constant development of technology blogs have been found to have another purpose other than just a place where to write your thoughts, it is now also being considered and utilised as a means or strategy for search engine optimisation and ultimately for online marketing purposes.
Blogs are being utilised as an off-site SEO strategy wherein links are being built through the different blogs. In the latest SEO report it has been found out that the two most important strategies in SEO this year is good content and link building. Those two given effective strategies can be accommodated by using a blog. In web 2.0 blogs, you are given several options at your disposal including transforming a text in your blog as a link. So how does a blog contribute to the achievement of the objectives of a Search engine optimisation campaign? Take for example a website of ten pages for every page there are nine on-site links pointing to it. In order for search engine spiders to determine the importance of a page an inside and an outside link pointing to one of your web page will be counted and every link to that page is considered a vote to such web page in your website. If you have a blog that is updated daily and for each significant keyword in your content to be transformed into a link pointing to one of your web page would then mean that your web pages in your website will have an internal or an external source linking to them. Imagine updating your blog daily and one keyword is transformed into a link that goes to the home page of your website multiply that with the total blog posts daily and use of the keyword linking to your home page the increase of links to your website or home page of your website is going to increase at an exponential rate which will then be interpreted as votes to your website thus increasing both your page rank and your SERP ranking.

In on-site search engine optimisation or an online marketing strategy that requires the manipulation of the websites’ content for the search engine spiders to see, being alone will not help your cause of increasing your conversion rate. Although having a high ranking both in SERP or the search engine results page and in the page rank is essential in every online business the efforts placed into this will only be futile if you will not produce the needed conversion rate. This is the reason why many online entrepreneurs do not only depend on the on-site SEO efforts for their website but also they employ the services of other websites that could give them the edge in gathering not only traffic but also conversion. Off-site search engine optimisation is important due to the fact that such strategy was developed not only to contribute in increasing the page ranking and search engine results page ranking but also to increase a more targeted traffic. This is done by doing link building efforts such as submissions to directories where you try to register your website on the most appropriate category thus ensuring that those who will click on your link from the directory are those that are really interested, this can also be done by starting a blog that will pertain to your target website wherein all the contents or articles will be according to your websites’ theme.
How will a targeted traffic encourage increase in conversion rate? Well this is a simple logic, having a targeted traffic entering or visiting your website means that those who visit your website are those that are interested to the products or services that you are offering. This is because they will most likely be enticed by your blog, press release or submitted articles to the different ezine sites which may already be a prelude to your marketing strategy of convincing the prospective client to avail of your products and services. If on-site SEO is important in having your website indexed and establish web presence an off-site SEO strategy therefore is essential in filtering the quality and type of traffic that will be visiting your website.

For quite sometime now Yahoo and Google have been locking horns on virtually everything that pertains to online businesses, for starters they have been competing for years on getting the number one spot in terms of internet users shares but throughout the years it has always been Google who dominates such field, that is why Yahoo have ventured also in other fields such as advertising and of course the stock market, not to be outdone Google also entered the same field as that of Yahoo. With this constant battle advertising was Yahoo’s crown jewel due to the fact that this is where they have focused most of their energies and resources which gave them the edge during the previous years. But just like what happened in the field of search engine, it seems that Google will again surpass Yahoo in terms of advertising. In the latest news stock market analysts are suggesting that Yahoo stocks should be sold in exchange for Google stocks following the premise that Yahoo’s revenue on advertising is on a downward spiral while Googles’ advertising revenue is increasing. Simple logic would of course dictate that it would be wiser for stock holders of Yahoo to sell their stocks and purchase Google stocks. Although in the past week Yahoo posted an increase in their revenue it is not attributed to the increase in advertising sales but rather it can largely be attributed to the cost-cutting measures that Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz have implemented in the company. So still as advised by stock and financial analysts it would be better to purchase stocks that are increasing in value due to the efforts of the company rather than holding on to a stock that got their report of gain from implementing cost-cutting measures.

The first step in the implementation process of any search engine optimisation campaign is the selection or formulation of keywords. Keywords are important because of the fact that such keyword is going to be utilised by the search engine as the category where your website will belong when your website is actually indexed. This means therefore that the process of selecting your keyword is indispensable. This is the reason why there is a need for an extensive brainstorming process when you formulate your keywords. The following are some guidelines that may help you in determining your keywords.
1.Use specific keywords instead of general ones.
2. Target more words by using keyphrases of around two to three words.
3. Determine the competitiveness of your chosen keyword. If your keyword is highly competitive it means that you will have to integrate a large volume of SEO work onto your website because there are sites that are already established in the search engines who uses the same keyword. This can be bypassed by not directly using such competitive keyword instead you have to rephrase the competitive keyword in order to still have the same relevance but with less competition.
4. When formulating your keyword you have to put yourself in the shoes of your prospective client or your target audience and think about what would be your target users would type in the search box when looking for a website that offers the same service or product as yours.
5. If your target niche is local then consider adding the name of the location in your keywords. For example instead of using private detectives use private detectives in Birmingham, this is if you actually target local clients for your website.
6. Make your keywords relevant. This means that you have to use or formulate keywords that are relevant to your website because you might be using a very popular keyword but it may not rake in the correct traffic to your website that will rake in conversions for your business. This is also because of the fact that you will be using the keywords in your websites’ contents.
These are just some guidelines that will help you to effectively formulate your keywords.

Search engine optimisation or SEO is widely known as an online marketing strategy that involves a lot of methods and processes. There are two types of known SEO techniques or strategies which are the on-site and the off-site SEO. Many SEO companies and SEO consultants have engaged or focused their strategies in the off-site strategy which in effect tend to make them look beyond the on-site SEO strategy. On-site strategy, just like an off-site strategy is equally important on-site SEO should first be performed on the target website before any off-site strategy is done. The on-site strategy should be done correctly the first time as it is already a common procedure for every Search engine optimisation company and SEO consultants. The following are the basic procedures to follow or strategies to implement when you start your on-site SEO.
First is to determine your keyword. Keyword selection is one of the most important step in Search engine optimisation due to the fact that the keywords that you have determined for your website will be the main category name in which your website will be indexed by the search engines.
Second is to determine and incorporate relevant titles to each of your web pages. If you don’t know what this is, title is the text that will appear on your web browsers’ title bar, and to incorporate it is to insert your title text in between the title tags of your web pages. Titles are seen and gathered by search engines which are also utilised for indexing your website, but search engines do not just accept any type of title, your given title for the web page must be relevant in terms of the web pages’ contents.
Third you have to make sure that your links are all valid. This means that your web pages link or navigation bar must point to the actual web page within the website, otherwise the search engine spiders might not be able to gather enough data for the search engine to process in order for your site to be indexed.
Fourth, use you chosen keywords in your website content. The content is one of the search engine spiders’ main target due to the fact that it is in the content where the search engine could gather and process enough data. Using your keywords in your content will greatly help your website to be indexed in the search engine under such keyword.

Email marketing is a controversial method of online marketing, over the years that such strategy is being used it had gained so much criticisms. Everyday people receive emails that do not necessarily provide what they need; these emails are mostly designed to entice the recipient of the email to avail of a product or service that is being offered. Unfortunately, this type of email are viewed by many as annoyances rather than an opportunity to get to know a product or service better. This is the reason why when there was a massive increase in receiving such emails there was a clamor to separate legitimate emails from what was termed as spam mails, thus the spam box was born.
So if these types of emails are being segregated why is it still being utilised as an online marketing strategy? This is because not all people are treating emails as spam, a good percentage of internet users worldwide are reading through all their emails and this is the opportunity that an email marketer is waiting for. So how do you actually convince someone to read through your email?
First is for you to ask permission, this is done by using or publishing newsletters or offering discounts in exchange with agreeing to receive emails from you. Permission is required in order for you not to be penalised by your ISP if and when they receive a substantial amount of complaints regarding your emails.
Second is for you to utilise only your own targeted mailing list, your mailing list may come from the offers and newsletters that your clients have agreed to receive in exchange for allowing you to send them emails, this way your email list is targeted towards the audience or niche that you want to offer your products to.
Third is to provide your prospective email recipients with a way out. This means that you do not hold them by agreeing to your terms of allowing you to send them emails, you have to provide them with an option later should they decide to stop receiving emails from you, although this strategy might let you lose some prospective clients is also shows however that you are sincere in your clients welfare and thus it says something about how legitimate your business is.
These are just some guidelines that you can implement or follow should you decide to engage in the email marketing strategy.
